ABOUT US

Gone are the days of students coming into a media center to speak in hushed tones to the librarian about research. Today, media centers are buzzing with student centered activity and Deerwood is no different! The Deerwood Academy Media Center is dedicated to designing and maintaining a media program that supports, compliments, and expands the International Baccalaureate instructional program. The media center seeks to provide a learning environment that promotes inquiry, stimulates intellectual curiosity, encourages pleasure reading, and develops diverse interests for the enjoyment of life-long learning. Additionally, the Media Center will provide and promote instruction to prepare students to become independent users of libraries and information resources.
