A Princess Reads a Picture Book!

Storybook Character Day was a fun time for all. Students dressed up as their favorite storybook character and had a great time doing so. I was delighted to listen as this little princess read all about Ariel and Cinderella in the media center. What was even more amazing was that this little beauty was not shy at all. As she turned each page, she either read the words she knew, or she used her imagination to make up stories that corresponded with the pictures she saw on the pages. I was blown away by her confidence, her willingness to read to me, and her ability to read with such expression. She is proof that early literacy is vitally important. What an amazing foundation she has and she is only in pre-k! I can't wait to see how she grows over the next few years. :)
